Spice Mas Grenada
Carnival 2012 will be officially launched on Saturday, June 02, 2012 at 3:00pm.
The official ceremony commences with the unveiling of: calendar of Carnival events, Carnival Queen Representatives, display of mas bands and entertainment from Soca and Calypso artists. A main component of the evening would be the exhibit of traditional mas bands including Jab Jab and Shortknee, which is consistent with the 2012 Spicemas theme “Uniquely Rooted in Our Rich Ancestral Traditions. Shortknee: Legacy of the Chantuelle’’.
The launch is a preview of what to expect for the 2012 Carnival season. The abundance of exciting events will begin the night of the launch with the main events to climax on August 13th and 14th. Spice Mas Carnival will create the Caribbean’s Greatest Summer and traditional Festival.
